Letter of Intent

On the occasion of the EU Equus 2009, a conference organized during the Swedish Presidency of the EU in Uppsala, Sweden, 29 -30 October 2009, representatives of participating institutions and organisations met to discuss the possibility of setting up an informal network of institutions
and organisations from the horse sector in Europe.

The aim of such an informal network could be to:

  • Exchange views on political developments affecting the horse sector
    in Europe

  • Discuss and define common interests on the political agenda

  • Discuss and define technical and R&D issues of common interest to
move for development of the horse sector in Europe

  •  Increase the visibility and impact of the horse sector in Europe.

It is understood that this list would not be exhaustive.

They agreed to formulate these views and intentions in a letter of intent, and
to submit this letter to their respective organisations for further consideration.

They asked the organizers of EU Equus 2009 to take the matter further.
